2017 National Champs

A re-creation of the 2017 National Championship official locker room design. This is no longer available for sale by UNC or Nike/Jordan Brand. When it was available in t-shirt form, it was only in cheap cotton that immediately stretched and faded. Get a better-quality t-shirt version of a memorable moment here.

2017 Post Season

Inspired by the 2017 NCAA Tournament bench T on the way to another National Championship. We did omit the hashtag on the sleeve but the design is identical right down to the Champion Gothic font Nike used. Funny little thing. Nike used a different font for the exclamation point. That one took a while to find.

90s Summer Camp

Tar Heels, Little Tar Heels, Blue One!!!

You saw our 1980s-era Carolina Basketball School design, now here's the early 90s version. Converse seemed fairly involved with Carolina Basketball School even featuring Converse logos on some of the year's shorts and t-shirts. When Nike entered the scene, the shorts got better but the design changed removing the two-seam basketball altogether. This is an identical re-creation of the shirt from that era.

Summer Camp

If you're like my brother and I, summers in Chapel Hill were a standard. "Tar Heels, Little Tar Heels, Blue 1!" This design has an appropriately aged look and harkens back to the pre-Nike era of Carolina Basketball School.

Carolina Basketball
School Alum

You made your bed every morning. You turned your lights out on time every night. You maybe only ever ran one tour that anyone knows about. And now you have done it. You have your certificate in hand and a photo with Coach Smith to prove it. You're an alumnus of the Carolina Basketball School. Congratulations!

1960's Tar Heel T

Inspired by a photo I found of my dad in DaNang, Vietnam 1968. Even in a war he had to make sure he was representing Carolina in Southeast Asia.

shop-now-button-3d-render-transparent-background-click-button-png.png

Interlocking NC

The alternative interlocking NC. The provenance of this logo is a little elusive to me so far. It appears to be on the shorts of the 1957 title team, or at least something close to it. Thus the confusion on its origins. The t-shirt features a distressed look on the logo.

1954-1967 Ram

The Ram head from 1954-1967. This was the featured logo for the first NCAA basketball title in 1957. This t-shirt design features the Ram with a slightly distressed look.

1968-1982 Ram

The contemporary Ram for the 1982 National Championship, but also dating all the way back to 1968. This t-shirt design features the Ram head in a distressed look.

1983-1998 Strutting Ram

One of the old favorites, the OG Strutting Ram. The Heels displayed this as their official logo from 1983-1998, most notably was the official logo for the 1993 National Championship.

Harkening back to the 1914 North Carolina basketball uniform. This simple design is a re-creation of the 1914 uni.

North State

The good old North State of North Carolina. Instead of the boring capitol colors, I prefer to use the shade of the "boys in bashful blue."

Words of Wisdom

Coach Smith had a lot of great things to say and wisdom to impart. The duality of this statement is fantastic because it works in sport and in real life (IRL).

Carolina Ball

Clean and simple designs are often the ones that withstand the test of time. We are attracted to trendy designs, but we look most fondly on the ones that say everything by saying very little more than what matters most. It's what becomes "classic." A simple basketball with Carolina markings is definitely and inherently classic.

shop-now-button-3d-render-transparent-background-click-button-png.png

MJ T-Shirt

In classic UNC form without any outline on the letters and numbers, just like the unis in the 1980s. The GOAT; need we say more?

shop-now-button-3d-render-transparent-background-click-button-png.png

Four Corner Ford

In the 1960's Coach Smith drove opponents crazy with the four corners offense. It was like watching paint dry to many, but without a shot-clock it was effective. However, it wasn't until a young man from Rocky Mount, NC came along that the four corners became deadly to the opposition and put Four Corner Ford in a position to be the all-time leader in ACC scoring for a long, long time.

shop-now-button-3d-render-transparent-background-click-button-png.png

Charlie

Perhaps the most important recruit in UNC history and not just culturally. Without Charles, there is no Ford and without Ford, there is no MJ.

shop-now-button-3d-render-transparent-background-click-button-png.png

Weight Room

Carolina has had so many transformational and generational players. When this young man came from Poplar Bluff to Chapel Hill a new era was coming. This is a guy who in summer pickup games was flexing on NBA veterans. He went on to surpass the Carolina and ACC all time scoring record and ended his career with a title.

Jerseys in the Rafters

There is no greater collection of greats in all of college basketball, than what is represented by the names on the jerseys in the rafters at the Smith Center. Can you spot the phantom number that doesn't belong anymore?

Smith Center

There is no greater display in college basketball than the Smith Center. The lights go down, the starting 5 are introduced then Jump Around ensues. The Heels at home is an awe-inspiring thing to witness.

shop-now-button-3d-render-transparent-background-click-button-png.png

Home Floor

Roy Williams Court inside the Dean Smith Center; that's a mouthful. Two of the best to ever walk the sideline of a college basketball team. Carolina has truly been blessed and is the only dynasty in the game. UCLA was a one-coach legacy. Similarly, dook is a one-coach legacy. Only Kansas and Kentucky can legitimately enter Carolina's chat room.

Carmichael

Carmichael Auditorium was a special place to play. 8 points in 17 seconds, Michael Jordan, Phil Ford, James Worthy, Sam Perkins, Walter Davis, Mitch Kupchak, etc, etc, etc. The events and the figures to play on that hallowed floor is almost unimaginable.

shop-now-button-3d-render-transparent-background-click-button-png.png

Center Court

Be it Carmichael or the Smith Center, there is no greater center court in all of basketball - college, pro, or abroad. This design is stripped down version without the interlocking NC to accentuate the unique nature of the state of North Carolina so simplistically displayed at center court.

shop-now-button-3d-render-transparent-background-click-button-png.png

Woody

For forty short years Woody Durham was the voice of the Tar Heels on Saturdays and for the hardwood. Fans of a certain age remember times when the game wasn't seen it was heard and Woody painted the picture. By the time he retired the digital era of television and radio had arrived and people went to great lengths to match his voice up to the TV. This design celebrates his most famous phrase. If you know, you know.

Locker Room T

Simple design with a bold statement. Carolina Basketball that's what.

The Motto

Coach Smith's long held saying "Play hard. Play smart." Then during his tenure as assistant coach, Coach Williams a third element "Play together." Today that three part motto is synonymous with Carolina Basketball and is emblazoned on the wall outside the locker room.

shop-now-button-3d-render-transparent-background-click-button-png.png

Seven Year Itch

For many reasons Carolina Basketball is the only dynasty in basketball, but this is one of the main ones. The Heels have seven titles (one Helms, six NCAA) in its storied history. That's seven titles in six different decades with four different coaches. Other programs can claim success with one coach, only Carolina can claim this kind of success over different eras how the game is played with different coaches.

shop-now-button-3d-render-transparent-background-click-button-png.png

Flight Carolina

The ceiling is always the roof with Carolina. This classic-looking logo embodies the 80s-90s feel of the Heels' primary sponsor.

shop-now-button-3d-render-transparent-background-click-button-png.png

The Argyle

When Coach Smith called Carolina grad and clothing designer Alexander Julian to re-design the basketball uniform neither probably guessed the outcome would result in an iconic symbol for all the university's athletics. The final product Julian came up with got Michael Jordan's approval to push it over the top, and the rest is history.

Inspired by the UNC letters on the Carolina helmets in the 1980's. This T reimagines a modern take on a classic 80's look.

shop-now-button-3d-render-transparent-background-click-button-png.png

The 10 Silhouette

The Powder Blue 10's never really actually matched the uniform color, it was more like the Carolina Panthers. None the less it's an icon, rarely seen, and hard to find. This design finally sees the 10 in actual Carolina Blue.

Live Action

The Live Action series designs are inspired by the 2017 tournament bench T. When Coach Davis said it's "Live action out there" he probably didn't think he had his ceiling is the roof moment,  but he did. Now the fall kickoff to basketball is Live Action with Carolina Basketball.

Live Action Too

The Live Action series designs are inspired by the 2017 tournament bench T. When Coach Davis said it's "Live action out there" he probably didn't think he had his ceiling is the roof moment,  but he did. Now the fall kickoff to basketball is Live Action with Carolina Basketball.

Aloha Again

Hawaii has been a great destination for the Heels over the years. In the early stages of the 1992-1993 season the Heels lost on a buzzer-beater to Michigan at the Rainbow Classic in Honolulu, HI. Later that season Carolina beat Michigan in the National Championship for Coach Smith's second title. Hawaii is more intriguing of late. The last three National Championships for the Heels ('05, '09, '17), all under Coach Williams, saw a November trip to Maui. Next November Carolina is going back to Maui.

The GOAT

The Last Dance was a needed escape during COVID, but it was a reminder of who the greatest of all time is; and who isn't. AIR was another reminder that after all these years away from the game, it's still equally as mesmerizing to see the GOAT's story over and over again.

The Routine

When you're Tar Heel Born and Tar Heel Bred, your daily, monthly, and annual routine pretty much looks like this.

Framed Retirement Party Invite

There's nothing like a good Tar Heel send-off. The retirement was planned and the ending was planned too. We were just the only ones that didn't plan to participate in the pre-ordained outcome.

A different look for Carolina Football with the Ram on the helmet. It would be a cool alternate look to have a simple no stripe helmet and the scowling Ram.

Travis Scott Tag

Not exactly Carolina related, but a good Beaverton design fits well in the Carolina universe. The reverse check is a nod to the Travis Scott designs that are so coveted by sneakerheads, while the tag itself was a common fixture on J's in the 80s and 90s.
